Heaven Is a Red River: New Cast and PV Details Revealed
Exciting news is coming in for the fans of classic shojo manga. Mirai Tachibana has been officially cast to play Yuri, the central protagonist of the upcoming TV anime "The Banks of the Red River." This adaptation is based on the legendary work by Chie Shinohara. Joining her is Wataru Kato, who will voice the exceptionally talented Prince Kyle Mursili. Additionally, Hiroki Nanami is set to play the narrator and Yuri's modern-day boyfriend, Himuro. Along with this big cast reveal, a teaser PV has also been released to give us a first glimpse of the production.

"Heaven Is on the Red River" is a gripping historical fantasy that follows the life of Yuri, a typical girl living in modern-day Japan. Her life takes a 180-degree turn when she suddenly travels back in time to the Hittite Empire in the 14th century BC. This story is widely considered a masterpiece, and many fans often discuss why this epic historical fantasy is a must read and must watch masterpiece today. After her arrival, Yuri meets Kyle, the prince of the empire, and ends up becoming his concubine. Before long, she gains immense fame as Ishtar, the goddess of war. The main cast members have shared their thoughts on this massive project. Tachibana mentioned that her character, Yuri, is truly straightforward. She noted that once Yuri makes up her mind, she pushes forward no matter how steep or muddy the road gets, making her bravery very appealing. Wataru Kato also sent a heartfelt message, saying he hopes fans of the original work will be happy with this anime. Hiroki Nanami, who is actually a fan of the original manga herself, expressed that the story made her feel the true romance of history. Nanami will also be handling the opening theme song titled "Akatsuki no Sora," for which she even wrote the lyrics.

She wakes up in Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire. Despite the cruel fate, she decides to face her fears and survive. The PV also introduces Nakia, the ambitious empress who opposes Yuri, along with characters like Zananza, Mattiwaza, and Ramses. The TV anime will air on Nippon Television and BS Nippon Television. The project is directed by Kosuke Kobayashi, with Yoriko Tomita handling the series composition and Tatsunoko Productions in charge of animation.
