``Heaven is on the Red River'' is a historical fantasy story in which Yuri, a girl living in modern-day Japan, suddenly travels back in time to the Hittite Empire in the 14th century BC. Yuri meets Kyle, the prince of the empire, and becomes his concubine, and soon becomes famous as Ishtar, the goddess of war. Meanwhile, as the time limit to return to modern-day Japan approaches, she is shaken by her feelings for Kyle, who she has grown to have feelings for... The original work was serialized in Girls' Comics (Shogakukan) from 1995 to 2002.

Comments have also arrived from Tachibana, Kato, and Nanami. Tachibana said of his character, Yuri, ``He is truly straightforward, and once he makes up his mind, he pushes forward no matter how steep the road is or how muddy it gets! His bravery is so appealing that you can't take your eyes off him.'' Kato sent a message saying, ``I hope fans of the original work will be happy with this anime adaptation, and I hope that those who learned of ``Tenga'' from the anime will enjoy it along with the original work.'' Nanami, who is a fan of the original work and has also appeared in the commercial for ``Dream Drops, Golden Birdcage,'' also directed by Shinohara, expressed her thoughts on the work, saying, ``Through the story, I felt the romance of history, thinking that maybe there really were people who had experiences like Yuri.'' Nanami will also be in charge of the opening theme for the new song ``Akatsuki no Sora'', which she wrote the lyrics for.

The teaser PV starts with a scene in which Yuuri, who was living in modern Japan, is on a date with her boyfriend when her leg is suddenly grabbed by a "hand" that extends from a puddle and she is dragged into the water. Yuri wakes up in Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire in the 14th century B.C., and despite being caught up in a cruel fate, he faces forward and bravely tries to survive, saying, ``I can't run away!'' and ``I can't give up!''. It also features images of the unique characters, including Nakia, the empress who drives Yuri into a corner for her own ambitions, Kyle, the prince who reaches out to Yuri, and Zananza, Mattiwaza, and Ramses, who later play a major role in the story.
