John Tarachine's ``The End Credits of the Sea'' will be made into an animated film, scheduled for release in 2027. The film will be directed by Taichi Ishidate, who has directed ``Violet Evergarden the Movie'' and ``City the Animation,'' and will be produced by Kyoto Animation.

``The End Credits of the Sea'' is the story of Umiko, who lost her husband at the age of 65, and when she meets Kai, an art college student majoring in film, she realizes that she is ``the kind of person who wants to make movies'' and aims to become a film director. It started being serialized in Monthly Mystery Bonita (Akita Shoten) in 2020, and has been ranked in the 2022 and 2023 editions of ``This Manga is Amazing!'' for two consecutive years. The final 9th volume of the book will be released on May 15th.
Animated Movie Production Details
The movie's ``super'' trailer video and the ``animation movie decision'' visual will be released. In the special video, the narration says, ``Please pack light, may the ocean we travel through be rich and beautiful, be blessed with wind, and move forward.'' and Umiko is shown heading toward the sea and holding a camera at the beach at sunrise, even if her clothes get dirty.
