The establishment of Animec, a film distribution company jointly financed by KADOKAWA and Aniplex, has been announced.

When establishing Animek, the company stated that it aims to become a company that specializes in the distribution business and distribution promotion of anime films, and co-creates value with everyone involved in the works, including fans, content holders, and theater personnel. Mr. Hiroyuki Shimizu was appointed as representative director and chairman, and Mr. Kei Horiuchi was appointed as executive officer and president. The company's main business is distribution and distribution promotion of animated films.
KADOKAWA also explained that the company name, ANIMEC, which is a combination of Anime and Cinema, incorporates the company's philosophy of ``delivering the appeal of anime movies to fans and contributing to the development of the industry.'' Since ``Animek'' is also the name of an anime magazine that was published until the 1980s, the company decided to use ``Animek'' as its company name after reporting to Shinichiro Inoue, who served as the magazine's deputy editor-in-chief and previously served as KADOKAWA's representative director and executive officer/Chief Anime Officer.
