This was announced by the Tokyo Actors' Consumer's Co-op, also known as the Haiku Association, to which Ikeda belongs. A comment posted on the official website reads, ``Thank you very much for your support, guidance, and encouragement for Masako Ikeda over the years.'' The wake funeral was held only for close relatives.

Ikeda was born on January 1, 1939 in Tokyo. She played the role of Reika Ryuzaki, also known as Mrs. Butterfly, in the anime ``Aim for the Ace!'' and the Phoenix in ``Phoenix,'' and was responsible for dubbing Audrey Hepburn in foreign films. He was selected for the Distinguished Achievement Award at the ``1st Voice Actor Award'' and the Honorable Mention in the Anime Contribution Category at the ``Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2020.''
