Analysis: Hiromu Shinozuka’s Mirumo de Pon! Returns with a New Sequel

The first chapter made its grand debut in the April issue of Ciao magazine by Shogakukan, which was released today, March 3rd. It feels like a total blast from the past for those who grew up watching the mischievous love fairy and his human partner.

However, this peace is suddenly shattered when a mysterious black cloud appears out of nowhere and starts attacking all the fairies. In all that confusion and chaos, Milmo’s wife, Rirum, gets taken away by the dark force.
The new storyline follows Milmo as he struggles to get Rirum back. Of course, he isn't alone in this battle. He has to team up with his long-time rival Yasichi and his cute but sneaky younger brother Murumo. Seeing these characters back in action together is really nostalgic for the fans.
More New Manga Debuts in Ciao
The April issue of Ciao is actually packed with more than just Milmo's return. Two other interesting series have also started their serialization:
- \∞Adult Mode by Fujita Hasumi: This story is about a girl named Sara who is obsessed with fashion. Her life changes when she meets a mysterious fairy and suddenly transforms into an 18-year-old adult.
- No.99 by Matomamia: This one is set in an elite school where only 99 talented students are allowed. The protagonist, Soraki Nano, is currently in 99th place and is working really hard to reach the top just so she can finally confess her feelings to her childhood friend, Koushiryu, who is ranked number one.
Apart from these, the issue also featured some one-shot stories like Boyish♡Magic! by Shinato Amajima and Zaizen Komachi Shitamachi Ogourmet by Mafaru. It is really great to see the magazine bringing back old favorites while introducing fresh stories.
