New Gintama Theatrical Version: Special Benefits and Election Results
There is some really great news for fans of Hideaki Sorachi's legendary series. As the fifth special benefit for those visiting the theatres to watch "New Theatrical Version Gintama -Yoshiwara Great Flames-", a fresh set of collectibles has been announced. The "Anime Original Art Stickers 卍" are going to be distributed to fans from March 13th to March 19th. These stickers are quite limited, so you better hurry if you want to get your hands on one before they are all gone.
This particular visitor benefit for the "New Theatrical Version Gintama -Yoshiwara Great Flames-" movie consists of a total of 8 different types of stickers. You will be getting one at random, so it is all down to luck! The lineup looks very interesting and includes Katsura with a very cool expression, Kondo dressed up as a big man, and the Shinsengumi members looking up at the sky. Of course, Gintoki is also there, smiling even though he is covered in blood. Other designs feature Shinpachi supporting Kagura, an awakened Kagura, Kamui with a fearless smile, and Abu Usagi with a very sharp gaze. Character Election: Entry Pre-Present Contest Results
The results of the character election, known as the "Entry Pre-Present Contest," have also been revealed now. This poll was conducted to select which characters would be designed for special visitor presents. It’s no surprise that 1st place went to Gintoki Sakata. Following him, Kamui grabbed the 2nd spot, Toshiro Hijikata came in 3rd, Sougo Okita secured 4th, and Tsukuyomi finished the top five at 5th place. Because of these results, some "Super limited character film style stickers" featuring these five characters will be distributed to the audience.
Tsukkomi and Support Screening Event
On March 12th, a very special event was held at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo. It was titled, "Let's all go wild! 'New Theatrical Version Gintama -Yoshiwara Great Flames-' Tsukkomi & Support Screening, Stage Greetings with Tsukkomi Instructions." The voice actors Daisuke Sakaguchi (who plays Shinpachi Shimura) and Kazuya Nakai (who plays Toshiro Hijikata) were present on stage. During the event, Hijikata sent a funny but serious message to everyone, telling them not to be shy with their tsukkomi and to cheer as loudly as possible. He even mentioned that bringing goods for cheering is encouraged, but troublesome behavior or spoilers would mean "seppuku"! The movie itself is doing quite well in theatres. It follows Gintoki and his friends as they go up against a massive darkness in Yoshiwara Togenkyo. This place is an underground red-light district where the law basically doesn't exist. They are there to help an orphan named Haruta who wants to see his mother again. It has been 16 years since the "Yoshiwara Flames" TV arc was first broadcast, so seeing it scaled up like this for the big screen is a real treat for the long-time fans.
