The release date of this film was changed due to production circumstances. A comment posted on the official website reads, ``Once again, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been looking forward to the release.Please wait for a while until the release.''
"Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie (Walpurgis no Kaiten)" is the "legitimate sequel" to "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie [New Edition] Rebellion", produced by general director Akiyuki Shinbo, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus), character designer Ume Aoki, and animation producer Shaft. The release schedule has been postponed to fall 2024 and February 2026.
