There is some really sweet news coming from the world of Shoujo manga today. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of LaLa (Hakusensha), a very special project called LaLa Love Letter has officially kicked off. It is basically a way for creators to show their respect and love for the authors who inspired them. For the first installment, we got to see a beautiful tribute from Ririko Tsujita, the brilliant mind behind Warau Kanoko-sama and Koida no Ai Dano. She sent a lovely message and fan art to Masami Tsuda, who is world-famous for the classic series Boyfriend and Girlfriend Circumstances (Kare Kano). This beautiful tribute was published in the May issue of LaLaDX, which just hit the stands today, April 3rd.

A Tribute to Shounen and Shoujo Memories

The "LaLa Love Letter" project is honestly such a great idea because it lets us see the human side of these famous mangakas. Tsujita shared that she first came across Boyfriend and Girlfriend Circumstances when she was just a teenager. Like many of us, that story probably had a big impact on her during those growing-up years. To show her admiration, she even drew a special illustration of the characters. What makes it even better is that Masami Tsuda actually sent a reply back to Tsujita! It is like a dream come true for any fan turned professional.
