New Live-Action Kishibe Rohan Special: Kyoka Izumi Takes the Lead

The highly popular drama series Kishibe Rohan does not move, which is based on the legendary original work by Hirohiko Araki, is finally coming back with a brand-new installment. This latest work is titled Izumi Kyoka does not shut up, and it has officially been decided for broadcast. Fans can catch the premiere on NHK General TV starting at 9:30 pm on May 4th. This is really exciting news for anyone who has been following the eccentric adventures of our favourite mangaka.

An Original Story Centered on Rohan's Editor

In a bit of a twist from the usual format, the main character for this special drama is actually Izumi Kyoka. As many of you know, she is Rohan Kishibe's editor and his very reliable, albeit talkative, partner. The plot revolves around Kyoka getting herself caught up in a very strange and peculiar situation, all triggered by some specific words from Rohan-sensei. What makes this even more special is that it is an original story created with the direct cooperation of the author, Hirohiko Araki himself. For fans, this is a huge deal because it expands the universe in a way that remains true to the source material. The script for this episode was penned by Yutaro Seki and Kentaro Hirase, who are part of the talented director group May.

Comments from the Lead Cast Members

Marie Iitoyo, the actress who brilliantly plays Kyoka Izumi, shared some of her thoughts on this new project. She wondered what kind of "monster" Kyoka—who she describes as a "being of light" with a very positive "do it when it’s time to do it" attitude—will have to face this time around. She also jokingly pointed out that, technically, Kyoka hasn't actually encountered any real monsters before now. It will be very interesting to see how she manages to solve such a supernatural problem without Rohan-sensei constantly by her side. As the title suggests, it seems Kyoka Izumi won't be staying quiet about it!

The lead actor Issei Takahashi, who portrays the iconic Rohan Kishibe, also weighed in on the production. He mentioned that even though this is an original story that you won't find in the manga series, the moment he read the script, he felt it was definitely part of Rohan's world. He also felt it was quite inevitable that Kyoka-kun would eventually become the protagonist of her own story. Many fans agree that why Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe is a must watch JoJo spinoff is exactly because of these unique character dynamics and the high-quality production of the live-action episodes.

What to Expect from This New Special

Since this is a fully original narrative, there is a lot of mystery surrounding the exact nature of the supernatural event. However, knowing the style of the series, we can expect a lot of psychological tension and bizarre phenomena. Here are a few things to look forward to:

  • A New Perspective: Seeing the world through Kyoka's eyes rather than Rohan's adds a fresh layer to the storytelling.
  • Original Araki Input: The involvement of Hirohiko Araki ensures that the "bizarre" elements will be top-notch.
  • High Stakes: Without the immediate use of Heaven's Door, the resolution will likely require Kyoka's own wits and stubbornness.

For those who are new to the series, understanding why Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe is a must watch JoJo spinoff will help you appreciate how it blends horror and mystery so perfectly. Make sure you don't miss the broadcast on May 4th, as it promises to be one of the most unique entries in the Kishibe Rohan live-action franchise so far.
