The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
The synopsis and preliminary scene cuts for the first episode of the summer anime 'Rural Old Man Becomes a Kensei II' have been released. 
'An Old Man from the Countryside Becomes a Swordsman' is a classic swordsman warrior fantasy based on the novel created by author Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrator Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. Combined with the comic adaptation by Kazuki Futo and two spin-off titles, the series has become a hot topic with cumulative sales exceeding 10 million copies.

第2期『片田舎のおっさん、剣聖になるII』では、片田舎の剣術師範ベリル・ガーデナントはいまや騎士団の特別指南役として、そして孤児の後見人として首都での日々に馴染みつつある.

Production and Broadcast
The animation will be produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film under the direction of Akio Kasumi, with Beryl Gardenant's Hiroaki Hirata and others appearing. The first episode of the summer anime 'Rural Old Man Becomes a Kensei II' will be broadcast on TV Asahi's national network 'IMAnimation W' slot, BS Asahi, and AT-X from July 8th (Wednesday).
