All 68 volumes of Machiko Hasegawa's ``Sazae-san'' and all 6 volumes of ``Ijiwaru Baasan'' have been made into e-books for the first time. Volumes 1 to 16 of "Sazae-san" and all volumes of "Ijiwaru Baasan" are being distributed today, April 22nd.
``Sazae-san'' was first published in the evening edition Fukunichi (Fukunichi Shimbunsha) on April 22, 1946, and today marks its 80th anniversary. The original version published by Hasegawa and his sister Mariko, a publishing company and sister company, has been republished and made into an e-book. ``Sazae-san'' also includes newspaper publication dates and glossary of terminology at the time, which were not included in the original version, and can be enjoyed as a cultural resource to learn about social conditions at the time. One e-book of ``Sazae-san'' will be distributed every Wednesday.
