The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
The June issue of SF Magazine (Hayakawa Shobo), released today, April 24th, features "SF Girls Manga Special Feature 2." It was supervised by Gitoriko, known for works such as ``A Story to Keep You from Dying,'' and an illustration of Reiko Shimizu's ``Kaguyahime'' graced the cover.

Exploring the History of Science Fiction Girls' Manga
In the April 2025 issue, SF magazine carried out a "SF girls' manga special feature" that focused on science fiction girls' manga from the 1980s. This issue introduces the history of science fiction girls' manga up to the present, focusing on writers from the 1990s onwards. The magazine features a manga in which Gin explains this special feature, ``Shoujo manga has always been science fiction,'' as well as interviews with Shimizu and Misato Ugaki. Shimizu's interview covers a wide range of topics, from the works he was exposed to in his childhood to his own work. Also includes one-shot manga by Eri Sakai, Sui Kono, and Ququ. The special feature titled ``A Guide to SF Girl Manga Artists from the 1990s to the 2020s'' introduces the profiles and representative works of Kyoko Hikawa, Chie Shinohara, Yun Takagawa, CLAMP, and others.
