The Person Inside the Villainess: TV Anime Adaptation Confirmed for 2027
It is finally happening! The news that all fans of the "Villainess" genre have been waiting for is officially out. It has been confirmed that Makiburo’s popular novel, The Villain’s Lady (also known as The One Within the Villainess), will be getting a TV anime adaptation. The broadcast is scheduled for 2027, so we have some time to wait, but the excitement is already through the roof. Along with this big announcement, the production team has also treated us to a teaser visual, a teaser PV, and some very interesting cast information.
The teaser visual is quite striking, showing the main character Remilia holding a single red rose. The whole scene looks like it is viewed through a broken mirror, which really sets a dark and mysterious tone. If you are wondering about the story, the teaser PV gives us a nice glimpse. It starts with a scene from the childhood of Emi, the person who was reincarnated and ended up possessing Remilia. We see Remilia appearing and making a bold declaration: "In my name... Cast and Staff Details Revealed
The cast for this project is absolutely stellar. The legendary Miyuki Sawashiro will be playing Remilia Rose Graupner. Remilia is the main character and the "villainess" of the otome game world where the story takes place. On the other hand, Rie Takahashi has been selected to voice Emi. Emi is the sweet soul who was reincarnated into Remilia’s body after sadly losing her life in a traffic accident. Both these voice actors are top-tier, and I can't wait to see how they bring these characters to life. This is exactly why The One Within the Villainess is a must-watch for any fan of deep, character-driven stories.

But she isn't doing it for herself; she is out for revenge against everyone who hurt Emi. It is a story of intense loyalty and cold, calculated vengeance. There is also news for fans who might be in Japan. The project will have an exhibit at AnimeJapan 2026, which is happening at Tokyo Big Sight on March 28th and 29th. They will be giving out postcards with the teaser visual at the KADOKAWA and Infinite booths. If you can make it, the Infinite booth will also be selling some exclusive goods and displaying works from the series.
