Masaharu Fukuyama's "Hotaru" has been chosen as the theme song for the drama "Kimi wa Natsu no Naka" based on the original work by Nagisa Furuya. A trailer using the same song was released.

The trailer depicts a refreshing summer scene and the delicate feelings of Toda Wataru and Saeki Chiharu, who are clumsily attracted to each other. Images from an 8mm film camera are used, creating a grainy yet refreshing image.
Theme Song Inspiration
"Hotaru" is a love ballad released as the theme song for a drama in 2010. Since the lyrics matched the relationship between Wataru and Chiharu and the worldview of the drama, the production team made an offer and it was decided to use the song. The song has been newly mixed for ``Kimi wa Natsu no Naka''. Fukuyama commented, ``I would be happy if the song ``Hotaru'', which was newly mixed to resonate in the summer of 2026, could be close to Wataru and Chiharu's hearts.'
Scene photos from episode 1 are also available. In the first episode, Wataru is asked by a female student in his class to find out who Chiharu likes. After school, Wataru asks Chiharu if she likes someone, and Chiharu answers something unexpected.
Drama Overview
The drama "You Are in Summer", which will be broadcast from July 1st, is a boy's love story in which Wataru, an ordinary second-year high school student, and Chiharu, his classmate and the most handsome guy in school, hit it off because they love movies, and gradually become attracted to each other. Tomoya Oku will play Wataru and Kazuto Mokuyo will play Chiharu.
