Volume 1 of ``The Extraordinary Happenings of Hatori and Furuta'', a new work by Daijiro Nonogami of ``The Last Journey to the West'', was released today, March 4th.
``The Extraordinary Happenings of Hatori and Furuta'' is an ``(un)ordinary youth story'' woven by Hatori, a high school boy, and his classmate, Furuta, a girl. Although Hatori does everything smoothly, he can't seem to find anything he's passionate about, so he considers himself a boring person. When Hatori accidentally confessed his worries to Furuta, Hatori said, ``Follow the instructions in the memo I gave you and come to my private place.'' He follows Furuta's instructions and steps into an upside-down world where heaven and earth have been reversed. In fact, Furuta has an eye for discovering "interesting things" lurking in the city one after another... In addition, Hatori's world changes as he experiences a little wonder with Furuta at places such as batting centers and facilities where he can buy food from vending machines. It is currently being serialized in Shonen Jump+.
