The New One-Shot Release
Waka Takase of 'My Sister's Friend' has announced her new one-shot 'Hong Kong Bisui Yatan' in Young Animal No. 11 (Hakusensha), released today, May 22nd. It is also available for free on the web manga site Young Animal Web.
The Storyline
Kotaro Hayashi, the main character of 'Hong Kong Sleep Night Story', is tired from work and visits Hong Kong to escape from his daily life. However, he lost his wallet in a foreign country and was unable to stay at the hotel he had booked. Then he meets Yao, a mysterious yet kind woman.
Author's Inspiration
In the author's comment at the end of the book, Takase says, 'I wanted to be disguised as a mysterious older sister in a foreign land!' about the work. This statement gives us a glimpse into the inspiration behind 'Hong Kong Bisui Yatan' and Waka Takase's creative process.
