WIT STUDIO's completely original TV anime "LONA" will begin broadcasting in spring 2027. The original idea/screenplay is Akiko Nogi of "Unnatural," the director is Takashi Katagiri of "SPY x FAMILY CODE: White," and the original character design is by Posuka Demizu of "The Promised Neverland."

``LONA'' is a ``brain science adventure'' that depicts the struggles of researchers at the Optical Neuroanalysis Laboratory, commonly known as LONA. In a future where incidents of people being attacked by people who are supposed to be dead are occurring, researchers analyze the brains of the dead and get to know their thoughts, getting closer to the mystery of the situation.
The Story and Characters of LONA
The role of LONA researcher Ao will be played by Kotobuki Minako, and the role of trainee researcher Sango will be played by Anna Nagase. Fuuka Izumi has been chosen to play the role of Mugen, the mascot who plays an active role at the LONA facility. The music will be composed by Yuko Setake of the movie ``Karaoke Go!'' and the animation producer will be Kazuki Yamanaka of ``SPY×FAMILY'' and ``Bubble.''
In conjunction with the announcement, three types of teaser visuals were released. The first is a visual that shows the image of blue reflected in the eyes of Sango, one of the main characters. The second visual depicts in detail the state of LONA, the facility that will be the main battleground of the story. The third visual contains a "certain object" that holds the key to the story.

Teaser Videos and Staff Comments
Two types of preview videos are also available. The teaser PV features Ao and Coral confronting the thoughts of the dead, and the teaser CM contains footage depicting a near-future worldview. The setting for the film is SPring-8 at the RIKEN in Harima Science Park City, Hyogo.

Comments have arrived from the staff and cast members. Demizu says, ``When I first joined the project, I was so surprised by the world setting that I couldn't stop reading the script from the beginning!'' Nogi commented on the work, saying, ``We want to express things that only anime can do!'' So we will challenge the brain and the world, set in a large synchrotron radiation facility that I have longed for.
