New Tensura Picture Book: Rimuru's Journey and Nation Building
The latest addition to the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise has finally arrived! The new picture book, titled "Tensura Picture Book Little Rimuru and the Demon Story", was officially released today, February 26th. What makes this release really special for fans is that the illustrations have been handled by Yasuki Kawakami, the talented artist who is already in charge of the manga adaptation. It is quite exciting to see the characters in a slightly different, cuter art style that still feels very much like the series we love.

A Closer Look at "Little Rimuru and the Demon Story"
For those who might be new to the series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime tells the story of an ordinary office worker who is reborn into a fantasy world as a simple slime. Reborn with the name Rimuru, he goes on to meet many interesting companions and eventually starts building his very own ideal nation. This new picture book specifically focuses on the early days, showing the heartwarming meeting and friendship between Rimuru and the Storm Dragon, Veldora.
The book doesn't just stop at Rimuru and Veldora; many fan-favourite characters make an appearance with adorable designs, including:
- Ranga – The loyal wolf companion.
- Shuna – The skilled and elegant Oni princess.
- Gerudo – Representing the High Orcs.
- Trainee – The Dryad protector of the forest.
- Kaijin, Gabil, and many others\!

One of the coolest features in this picture book is the inclusion of a panorama of Tempest, the monster country ruled by Rimuru. This panorama is not just for looking at; you can actually play a mini-game where you have to search for different characters hidden within the scene. It's a very nice touch that makes the book more interactive for readers of all ages.
Upcoming Movie Release and Special Features
The timing of this book release is perfect because the latest theatrical film, "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Blue Sea", is set to hit theatres tomorrow, February 27th. Comic Natalie is currently running a huge special feature to celebrate the movie. In a very interesting segment, movie presenter Akapen Takigawa (also known as Red Pen Takigawa) actually went inside Studio Eight Bit, the production house behind the anime.

During his visit, Takigawa explored the immense effort and commitment the staff puts into creating those powerful action scenes and high-quality visuals. It really gives you a deep appreciation for why That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a must watch fantasy epic for any anime fan. There are even interviews featuring Miho Okazaki (the voice of Rimuru) and Koichi Domoto, making it a must-read feature for the hardcore fans.
