Main Cast Revealed for Theatrical Anime "To You Who Lives in a Place Farther Than Anywhere"

Exciting news has just dropped for all the anime lovers out there! The special report for the much-awaited theatrical anime To You Who Lives in a Place Farther Than Anywhere is finally out, and it has brought along some very big announcements regarding the voice cast. Based on the popular novel by Akiko Abe, this film is already creating quite a buzz. It has been confirmed that Yosai Ishibashi will be taking on the role of our main lead, Kazuki Tsukigase. Joining him is Anna Nagase, who is set to play the part of a mysterious girl named Nanao Akika.

The cast list doesn't end there. We also have Kamiya Tsuchiya playing the role of Mikiya, who is Kazuki's classmate, and the veteran actor Hiroshi Tamaki will be voicing Takatsu, a character who apparently holds the very key to this entire story. It is really interesting to see such a mix of talent coming together for this project. Many fans are saying that the emotional depth of the story is beyond the horizon, making it a highly anticipated release for the upcoming season.

A Glimpse into Kagi Island and the Soulful Music

The special report actually gives us a first listen to the character voices of Kazuki, Nanao, Mikiya, and Takatsu. From the teaser, you can see the beautiful moment where Kazuki and Nanao meet for the first time. The setting is Kagi Island, which is shown as a remote island filled with lush greenery and stunning natural views. It looks like a perfect place for a coming-of-age story to unfold. The way they spend time on this island seems very peaceful yet filled with a bit of mystery.

Talking about the technical side, Koji Nakamura, who many might know from his days in the band SUPERCAR, is the one handling the music. This is actually his very first time doing a full-length soundtrack for an animated movie. Nakamura mentioned that he saw many beautiful depictions of nature in the film, like the blue sea, quiet forests, and even the feeling of a gentle breeze. He said his main goal was to make music that really harmonizes with those backgrounds and matches the deep emotional parts of the story. He really hopes everyone can feel that connection when they watch it in the theatre.

Production Details and Release Date

The movie is officially scheduled to hit the screens on October 16th. The plot starts right when Kazuki and Nanao have their fated meeting at the "Spirited Cove" on Kagi Island. The production team behind this looks quite solid too:

  • Director: Junichi Wada
  • Scriptwriter: Sayaka Kuwamura
  • Character Design & Chief Animation Director: Hechima
  • Animation Production: TMS Entertainment

For the music lovers, singer-songwriter Tota has written the main song for the movie. Also, if you can't wait for the film, there is a comic version by Haruka Chino that is currently being serialized in Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump. Honestly, with everything combined, it feels like why a place further than the universe is a masterpiece will be a question many will ask after watching this beautiful film. It definitely has that same emotional energy that sticks with you for a long time.
