The story depicts the lives of a young man, a former company slave, who inherits a deserted shrine, and the eight million gods who live at the shrine. Shota, who works as a company livestock SE, is informed by his parents that they are moving to Okinawa when he returns home. When Shota hears that the shrine that his father has inherited for generations will be left in the hands of a priest in a neighboring town, he decides to take over the shrine while becoming a freelancer.
