Black Butler Manhole in Sano: Cricket Connection

Manholes designed in collaboration with the TV anime "Black Butler: Boarding School Edition" based on the original work by Yana Toboso and Sano City, Tochigi, also known as the "city of cricket", have been installed near Sano Station and Sano City Hall in Tochigi Prefecture.

Sano City is home to the Japan Cricket Association and is working on city development using cricket. The collaboration with "Black Butler: Boarding School Edition" was made possible by the Japan Cricket Association's involvement in supervising the cricket scenes in the original manga and anime. There are five types of design manholes: Sebastian Michaelis, Ciel Phantomhive, Edgar Redmond and Lawrence Bruer, Herman Greenhill and Gregory Violet, and Undertaker. CloverWorks, the creators of the TV anime, have drawn the images of characters wearing the uniforms of the Japan national cricket team batting and bowling under the bright natural grass and vast skies of the Sano City International Cricket Ground.

For detailed installation locations of each manhole, please check Sano City's official website or the list at the end of the article. Manhole cards are also currently being prepared. Distribution information will be announced once it is completed.
