Ace of Diamond Act II Second Season: Toshiya Miyata Joins Cast and New Trailer Drops
It has just been revealed that Toshiya Miyata, who is a member of the popular boy band Kis-My-Ft2, will be joining the cast of the Ace of Diamond actII -Second Season- TV anime. He is set to play the role of Koji Chimaru, which is quite an interesting addition to the series. Along with this casting news, the production team has also released the second promotional video (PV), plus some very exciting details about the opening and ending theme songs that fans have been waiting for.
The upcoming sequel, based on the famous manga by Yuji Terashima, is officially scheduled to start broadcasting on April 5th. For many fans, Ace of Diamond has always been a top-tier sports series, and this new season looks like it will carry that legacy forward with even more intensity.
Character Spotlight: Koji Chimaru
The character Koji Chimaru, voiced by Miyata, is a third-year student at City University Third High School. He plays as a left fielder for his team. His backstory is actually quite deep; he used to be a backup pitcher, but because of some struggles with his mental health, he decided to switch positions and become an outfielder. Even though he still deals with some mental pressure, his talent is undeniable, as he has been handed the prestigious No. 1 spot in the batting order.
Miyata himself shared some thoughts on this new role, saying he was extremely happy to be chosen but also felt a bit of pressure working with such a legendary cast. He really hopes his performance can become a part of the viewers' own youth as they watch the show.
A First Look at the Intense Action
The second PV gives us a real glimpse into the high-stakes world of Japanese high school baseball. It starts off by showing the faces of various players, all filled with a fierce fighting spirit as they get ready for the National High School Baseball Championship Tokyo Tournament. Many fans believe Ace of Diamond stands out because of how it portrays these rivalries.

Of course, we also see the protagonist Eijun Sawamura from Seido High School. This time, he is facing the tournament while carrying the ace number on his back for the very first time, which is a huge moment for his character development.

Musical Collaborations and Theme Songs
The music for this season is also looking very solid. The opening theme is titled "Let's Go Crazy" and is performed by the talented singer-songwriter Baby Canta. For the ending theme, the group SUPER★DRAGON will be performing a song called "NUMBER". You can actually hear bits and pieces of both these tracks in the latest PV.
