The program ``[Sports Real Live Emergency Project] Approaching the charm of ``Ace of Diamond,'' the origin of professional baseball star players!'', in which baseball players talk about the appeal of the TV anime ``Ace of Diamond'' based on the original work by Yuji Terashima, will be broadcast on TV Tokyo tomorrow, April 4th at 11:00 p.m.
The program was carried out as a project of TV Tokyo's sports news program "Sports Real & Live". Ryota Osaka, who plays Sawamura, will provide the narration. The interview featured Kodai Chiga of the New York Mets, Yuki Yanagita of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, Kenta Maeda of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, Masanori Ishikawa of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, and Yoshitomo Tsutsugo of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. "I was able to become a professional thanks to 'Ace of Diamond,'" says Yanagita, who reveals his admiration for the slugger Goraiichi in the story and the influence it had on his own batting style. Ishikawa et al. provide realistic technical and mental depictions of moving fastballs and the struggles of learning curveballs from a professional perspective. Furthermore, along with episodes from the players' high school days, we look back on the pressures of being an ace and the bonds they have with their teammates, which are depicted in the story.
``Ace of Diamond'' is the story of the main character, Eijun Sawamura, who enters Seido High School, a prestigious school for high school baseball, and aims to become the top high school baseball player in the country. The first season of the TV anime aired from 2013 to 2015, and the second season aired from 2015 to 2016. The second part, "act II", will be aired from 2019 to 2020, and "Ace of Diamond act II Second Season" will start on April 5th.
