Akane Banashi, which started on April 4th, is the story of Akane Sakurazaki, a girl who was captivated by the magical rakugo of her father, Shinta Aragawa, who is a rakugo storyteller, when she was young, and began her own career as a storyteller. The first episode depicts Shinta's challenge to get promoted to Shinuchi, the shocking incident that occurred there, and Akane, who witnessed the incident. Tachiki will play the role of Zensho Aragawa, a rakugo storyteller, and Hirata will play the role of Ikken Aragawa, also a rakugo storyteller. Ito will play Masayuki Sakurasaki, Akane's mother, Konatsu will play Saki Yoshino, the owner of Rakugo Cafe, and Iwasaki will play Hirohisa Kashio, a reporter for Monthly Rakugo.
In addition, a non-credit opening video using the opening theme "Hitotashi/Hitotarashi" written and composed by Keisuke Kuwata was released. It depicts Akane flying through the air on a cushion, and the Aragawa Shiguma clan dancing to the chorus.
