The Story of Yakitate!! Japan
``Freshly Baked!! Japan'' depicts the story of Kazuma Higashi, a boy with warm hands called ``hands of the sun'' that are suitable for fermenting bread, as he aims to create ``Japan'', a uniquely Japanese bread that can be proud of to the world. The original work was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan) and became a hot topic for its passionate bread battles between unique characters and their violent reactions when they ate bread.
Production and Broadcast
The TV anime was broadcast from 2004 to 2006, and Sunrise was in charge of animation production. The main character, Kazuma Higashi, was played by Yumiko Kobayashi. A total of 69 episodes will be broadcast non-stop on ABEMA. All episodes can be watched for free for one week after broadcast.
