Nominees: Dandadan & Tacopi's Original Sin

The nominees for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026, sponsored by Crunchyroll, a major American anime distribution business, have been announced.

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards will be held for the 10th time this year. ``Anime of the Year'' includes the second season of ``Dandadan'', ``Gachiacta'', ``My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON'', ``Original Sin of Tapopie'', ``Apothecary's Monologue'' 2nd season, and ``The Summer When Light Died'', and ``Film of the Year'' includes ``Hyakuemu'', ``Chainsawman the Movie: Lesées'', and ``Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Chapter 1''. Six films were nominated: "The Return of the Aquarium," "Mononoke the Movie Chapter 2: The Fire Rat," "Endless Scarlet," and "The Rose of Versailles." Furthermore, from today, April 3rd until 15:59 on April 16th, you can vote for this award once a day from Japan.

"Best Voice Actor Award (Japanese)" goes to Aoi Yuuki who played the role of Neko from the second season of "Hitorigoto the Pharmacist", Chiaki Kobayashi who played the role of Yoshiki Tsujinaka from "The Summer Where Light Died", Daiki Yamashita who played the role of Izuku Midoriya from "My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON", and "Chainsaw Man the Movie". Nominated are Kikunosuke Toya who plays the role of Denji from "Reze-hen", Rena Ueda who plays the role of Reze, and Mayumi Tanaka who plays the role of Monkey D. Luffy from "ONE PIECE".

An award ceremony will also be held in Tokyo from 18:00 on May 23rd. Presenters from Japan will be Kasumi Arimura, Enako, Asuka Saito, Nanase Nishino, and Mitsuru. At the opening of the award ceremony, DEAN FUJIOKA performed "History Maker," the opening theme for "Yuri!!! on ICE," which won "Anime of the Year" at the first "Crunchyroll Anime Awards." Additionally, there will be a performance by Porno Graffitti to commemorate the 10th anniversary and completion of ``My Hero Academia,'' and a performance of ``Haruka Kanata,'' the opening theme for ``NARUTO'' by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION. There will also be a 30th anniversary tribute to "Neon Genesis Evangelion" by Yoko Takahashi.
