The Life and Works of Noboru Kawasaki
A critical biography of Noboru Kawasaki, whose representative works include 'Star of the Titans', 'Inakape Daisho', 'Isamu the Boy in the Wilderness', and 'Musashi', was released today, June 26th, titled 'The Story of Noboru Kawasaki, the Giant Star of Gekiga.' The Yomiuri Shimbun Western Headquarters Culture Department is in charge of this project.

Behind-the-Scenes Stories and Original Drawings
The book not only contains behind-the-scenes stories of Kawasaki's past works, but also contains over 100 original drawings. It also includes an interview with Tetsuya Chiba of 'Ashita no Joe', which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine (Kodansha) at the same time as 'Giant's Star'' and whose original work was also written by Ikki Kajiwara.
In conjunction with the release, Comic Natalie is making available for free the first chapter, 'Memories of a Distant Day,' from Part 1, 'Taishi,' of 'Gekiga Noboruden, the Giant Star of Kawasaki,' which describes Kawasaki's war memories and family memories.
