Ghibli Park's New Attractions
At the large Ghibli warehouse in Ghibli Park, a park facility that expresses the world of Studio Ghibli works, screenings of 'Panorama Box Exhibition' in the special exhibition room and 'Night in the Witch's Valley' will begin in the video exhibition room Orion-za from July 8, 2026. A press conference was held the day before, on July 7th, with director Goro Miyazaki speaking on stage for the first part, which had the theme of 'Panorama Box Exhibition,' and directors Goro Miyazaki and director Akihiko Yamashita for the second part, which had the theme of 'Night in the Valley of Witches.'
Panorama Box Exhibition
In the new special exhibit, 'Panorama Box Exhibition,' 'Panorama Boxes' created by director Hayao Miyazaki for Ghibli Park are on display. A panoramic box is a picture box that, when you look inside, reveals a deep, gimmicky picture. Director Hayao Miyazaki drew 31 new works based on his own animated feature films, from 'Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind' to 'How Do You Live?'
Night in the Witch's Valley
'Night in the Witch's Valley' is the first original animated short film created by Ghibli for Ghibli Park under the direction of Goro Miyazaki and Yamashita. The story, originally written by director Goro Miyazaki, is set in the Valley of the Witches and depicts the events that occur at Ghibli Park after it closes.
At the press conference, director Goro Miyazaki talked about the appeal of the panorama box, saying, 'It's interesting when you look into it.' (Hayao Miyazaki, who worked on the panorama box) said, 'It's the same with movies, but it actually creates a three-dimensional space by layering two-dimensional elements.' The paintings themselves are interesting, but when you look inside the panoramic box, you can understand why they are so interesting.

The recommended viewing method is, 'We have set the height of the exhibit low so that even small children and people in wheelchairs can view it. Adults will be looking down from above, but what's really interesting is that if you stick your head inside the window, the space will expand. Adults will enjoy it if they sit half-back or crouch down and take a peek.'
Regarding 'Night in the Valley of the Witches,' director Goro Miyazaki reveals his thoughts on the work: 'Since Ghibli Park doesn't have an attraction that you can ride and play at a so-called theme park, I thought it would be better to have something. However, since Ghibli is involved, I thought that the best attraction would be to make a movie rather than making an attraction. I feel more like making an attraction than making a short work.' He continued, 'Isn't 'Howl's Moving Castle' a moving castle? However, the castle at Ghibli Park (Howl's Castle) was sitting all the time, and I thought that it was bad for my health if I didn't move every now and then.'
About 'Night in the Witch's Valley'
・Synopsis
A 'new kid' who works at Ghibli Park.
Today, strangely enough, we are receiving requests for repairs from buildings all over the place.
Also, strange things happened, such as the fireplace lighting up on its own and water gushing out of the faucet.
'Something's wrong!'
The newcomer is freaking out, but his senior, Kikue, doesn't listen.
At midnight after the park closed, the newcomer headed to the Witch's Valley for his first night watch. There, Kikue-san is seen wearing a cloak.
