The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
A screening of all 13 episodes of the TV anime "Ikoku Nikki" based on the original work by Tomoko Yamashita, including staff talks, will be held at Kino Cinema Shinjuku in Tokyo from 13:00 on May 30th.

Story and Accolades
"Ikoku Nikki" is an "age difference" story between the shy novelist Takashiro Makio and his niece, Tomo Takumi, a girl who lost her parents in an accident. The TV anime, which aired from January to March, won the 63rd Galaxy Award Encouragement Award in addition to the Galaxy Award Television Category Monthly Award for March 2026.
At the event, director Miyuki Oshiro, character designer and chief animation director Kenji Hayama, and producer Tomoki Ueda will be on stage after the screening. Online ticket sales start today, April 28th at 8pm. Tickets will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and sales will end once the planned number is reached. If tickets remain, they will be on sale at theaters tomorrow, April 29th, when the theater opens.
