A talk event about the original TV anime "Inherit the Wind" was held today, March 28th, at "AnimeJapan 2026" held at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo.

``The Inheritance of the Wind'' is a period drama anime that depicts the brief youth of young people who lived in a turbulent era, using the Shinsengumi as its theme. Today was the first stage event for the work, and Daisuke Sakuma (Snow Man), who plays the main character Jinsuke Tachikawa, Yuki Kaji, who plays Souji Okita, Aoi Yuki, who plays Hyogo Koganei, and Kouki Uchiyama, who plays Toshizo Hijikata, took to the stage. Sakuma, who is participating in "AnimeJapan" for the first time, greets by saying, "It's my first time at Anime Japan, and I'm very happy to be able to stand in front of the audience for the first time with this work."
From here, we will talk about the characters that each person plays. Sakuma introduces Junsuke by saying, ``I think he's so fast that the other Shinsengumi members say 'fast!' to him. Another important thing is that Jinsuke starts out losing his memories, so I think people will come to like him more and more with each episode, and the memories will be implanted in them just like the viewers, so I think they'll be able to enjoy the experience in the same way." He also commented that he sympathizes with the fact that Junsuke is not good at "cutting" and "fighting". He further shared the commonalities, saying, ``I think I'm similar in that I want to help my friends when they're having a hard time, and I'm willing to take the initiative in those situations.''
Kaji describes Okita Souji as energetic, yet a little natural, and possesses genius swordsmanship. Yuuki talks about Koganei's charm with humor, saying, ``To sum up, he's a shitty kid.As the worst kid in the Shinsengumi, he was a good device to bring out the troubled expressions of the other members.''He talks about his charm with humor. Regarding Hijikata, who is passionately admired by Koganei, Uchiyama said, ``I don't know how many times I yelled at everyone.He's always angry, and because of his position, there are many scenes in which he shows a stern face, but on the other hand, like Mr. Kondo, who has been with him for a long time, he shows a soft expression in a limited relationship, so I was thinking about showing off various expressions during the dubbing.''
At the event, PV, broadcast information, and screening of the advance version in theaters will be announced. It was also revealed that Himasa Omori will be voicing Kurosuke, the cat that Okita is holding. In addition, there is also a scene in which a message from Yuichi Nakamura, who plays Isamu Kondo, is read on his behalf. Finally, Sakuma said, ``This work took about six years from the staff's conception to the broadcast, and I'm really looking forward to finally seeing the work that all the staff and cast poured their hearts into.I think it's a new answer to the many Shinsengumi stories, so I hope you enjoy the new Shinsengumi.''
