Key Visual and Massive Cast Update for LIAR GAME Anime Revealed

The upcoming TV anime adaptation of LIAR GAME, which is based on the legendary original work by Shinobu Kaitani, is finally getting closer to its premiere. It has been officially confirmed that the series will start broadcasting on April 6th, and fans are already buzzing with excitement. To make the wait even more interesting, the production team has released a brand-new key visual along with the announcement of 14 new cast members. These actors will be playing the various participants who find themselves trapped in the high-stakes world of the Liar Game.

For those who might not know the premise, LIAR GAME follows the story of Kanzakinao, an exceptionally honest and somewhat naive female college student. Her life takes a dark turn when she suddenly gets caught up in the mysterious Liar Game. In this tournament, participants have to compete for massive amounts of money, and the only way to win is through constant lies, deception, and clever bargaining. It is a world where being too truthful can lead to ruin, which is exactly why this psychological thriller is a must-watch anime and manga phenomenon for fans of the genre.

Introducing the 14 New Participants and Their Voice Cast

The latest update has introduced a diverse group of characters who will be joining the fray. The new cast members include:

  • Yasutaka Tomioka as Yuki Edateru, who is described as a stout and very talkative man.
  • Shoya Ishige as Takahiro Kikuzawa, a young man with a playful but winning attitude.
  • Ryosuke Asano as Hiroto Kitamura, a character who is quite nervous and timid.
  • Taro Kiuchi as Tetsuzo Sato, a man easily spotted with his shaved head and baseball uniform.

  • Hisanari Fukamachi as Daisuke Danno, a cool-headed young man who always wears sunglasses.
  • Naoya Miyase as Kosuke Tsunoda, a friendly young guy with a distinct spiky hairstyle.

The list doesn't end there, as several other talented voice actors have also joined the project. Misuzu Yamada will be voicing Reina Nishihara, a petite and active-looking woman with twin tails. Tahi Kimura plays Shingo Fujita, a quiet and somewhat inconspicuous young woman. We also have Misano Sakai as Hoso Ejun, a woman who often seems anxious, and Goma Tsuru as Yuki Makihara, who brings a calm atmosphere to the group. Additionally, Ryo Nishizawa will play Fumio Matsubara, an elderly ironworks manager participating to pay off heavy debts. Taku Yashiro takes on the role of Takayoshi Miura, a man with a mohawk and nose piercing, while Daichiha plays Hitomi Miyahara, a glamorous woman who is very active in interacting with others. Comments from these new cast members have already started arriving along with the big reveal.

Giveaway Campaign and Upcoming AnimeJapan 2026 Event

To celebrate the upcoming release, the anime's official X account is currently running a special giveaway campaign. Three lucky winners will get the chance to win promotional posters from the second edition. These are not just ordinary posters; they will feature autographs from all 14 new cast members. It also includes signatures from the main cast, such as Saaya Hitomi (Nao), Takeo Otsuka (Shinichi Akiyama), Kazuhiro Nakatani (Leronira), Nobuo Tobita (Kazuo Fujisawa), and Yoji Ueda (Mitsuo Tanimura). This is a huge opportunity for collectors and fans who understand why this psychological thriller is a must-watch anime and manga phenomenon even after all these years.

Furthermore, on March 29th, a special stage event is scheduled at the TV Tokyo booth during AnimeJapan 2026. The main trio—Hitomi, Otsuka, and Nakatani—will be appearing on stage to interact with the fans. Those who win a spot to view the stage event will also receive a special mask known as Leronira's Mask. It’s definitely going to be one of the highlights of the convention for anime lovers.
