PSYREN -Siren- Anime Adaptation Officially Announced for October
Finally, the news all we fans were waiting for has arrived! The TV anime PSYREN -Siren-, which is based on the original manga work by Toshiaki Iwashiro, is officially set to be broadcast this October. It has been a long time coming, and the best part is that the producers have revealed the story will be adapted properly right until its very conclusion. This means we won’t be left hanging with an incomplete story. Along with this big announcement, the second teaser visual has also been released to get everyone hyped up.

A Closer Look at the New Teaser Visual and Characters
The new teaser visual is looking quite intense and features all five main characters of the series. The atmosphere is very ominous, which really suits the theme of the show. In the visual, Sakurako Amemiya, Hiryu Asakawa, Oboro Mochizuki, and Kabuto Kirisaki all have very serious and determined expressions on their faces. On the other hand, our protagonist Ageha Yashina is looking a bit more relaxed, which is typical of his character. The catchphrase on the visual reads, "A warning is ringing for our future," giving us a hint of the high stakes involved. Detailed character introductions are now also published on the official website for those who want to dive deeper.
PSYREN -Siren- is basically a supernatural battle suspense series that was originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha from 2008 to 2010. For many of us, this is a major nostalgic trip, and seeing why this hidden gem deserves a modern anime adaptation is finally becoming a reality. The story kicks off when Ageha picks up a "red telephone card" left in a public phone booth. Soon, he starts searching for Amemiya, who suddenly disappears, and ends up accessing a secret society known as "Siren." This group is rumored to be the mastermind behind various "spirited away" disappearances happening across the country.
Voice Cast and Animation Production Details
The voice cast for the main characters has also been confirmed, and it looks like a very solid lineup:
- Ageha Yashina: Played by Rikuya Yasuda
- Sakurako Amemiya: Played by Mayuko Kazama
- Hiryu Asakawa: Played by Shunsuke Takeuchi
- Oboro Mochizuki: Played by Soma Saito
- Kabuto Kirisaki: Played by Yukihiro Nozuyama
The production staff is also quite experienced. The director for the project is Katsumi Ono, with series composition being handled by Shin Yoshida. The animation production is being done by Satelite, so we can expect some really good quality action sequences. It is truly exciting to see why this hidden gem deserves a modern anime adaptation after all these years of waiting.
