Reiko Katsura, who played the first role of Ikura Namino in the anime "Sazae-san," passed away on February 16th due to respiratory failure due to aspiration pneumonia. He was 89 years old.
This was announced on the official website of the Tokyo Actors' Consumer's Co-op, to which Katsura belongs. The wake and funeral were held only for close relatives, according to the wishes of the family. Katsura was born on February 8, 1937 in Fukuoka Prefecture. After working at the Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting Theater Company and Bungakuza Theater Research Institute, he joined the Haikyo in 1964. Other representative works include the role of Omochama in ``Yatterman'' and the second generation Ojiro in ``New Obake no Q-Taro.''
