New Updates for Japan Three Kingdoms: Cast, Visuals, and Theme Song Revealed
The upcoming TV anime Nihon Mikuni, which is based on the original manga by Ikka Matsuki, has just dropped a bunch of new updates that have the fans really excited. We finally have news about the additional cast members, some very cool special visuals, details on the ending theme song, and even a third preview trailer to look at. If you have been following the news, you know that this series is building up to be quite a big release this season. It is honestly one of the main reasons why you need to read the manga and watch the anime adaptation of this unique story.

The Setting and Story of Japan Three Kingdoms
The story of Japan Three Kingdoms takes place in a near-future Japan where things have gone completely south. Civilization has basically collapsed after a massive revolution that was caused by nuclear wars, natural disasters, and just generally bad government. Because of all this chaos, Japan has been divided into three separate countries: Yamato, Buo, and Sei. It is almost like the country has entered a new Sengoku period all over again. The main plot follows Seiki Misumi, who is a very determined character trying his best to reunify Japan under one banner. The way the narrative explores this fractured world is really something you should check out, and it explains why you need to read the manga and watch the anime adaptation to fully understand the political depth.
New Cast Members Joining the Series
The production team has recently revealed some very talented voice actors who will be joining the Nihon Mikuni team. These new additions are definitely going to bring more life to the characters we have seen in the manga. Here is the list of the newly announced cast members:
- Keno Horiuchi as Yayakichi Hei
- Shuichiro Umeda as Takeo Nagao
- Shunsuke Sakino as Akii Kura
- Ayumu Murase as Tsugui Hiradono
It is quite interesting to see such a diverse group of actors coming together for this project. Their performances will be key in showing the tension between the different factions in this post-apocalyptic Japan.
Visuals by Studio Kafka and Music Details
We also got a look at a special visual that was drawn by Studio Kafka. In this artwork, you can see the main characters, Seiki Misumi and Yoshitsune Asama, standing side by side. They are standing in front of the Tsutenkaku Tower, which is a very famous symbol of Osaka and the capital of the Yamato region. The visual really captures their strong determination to change the world and fix the broken state of their country. It looks very polished and gives us a good idea of the animation style we can expect.
Regarding the music, the ending theme song for the anime has been confirmed as "Oath" by the artist Leina. This same song is actually featured in the third preview trailer that was released. The trailer itself is quite intense, showing the power struggle between Heidenki, his son Tsugu Heidono, and the Frontier Shogun Corps led by Ryumon. We also see the Seii side, where commander Sakura Wajima is busy preparing her forces for a big offensive against Yamato. The stakes are clearly very high for everyone involved.

Broadcast and Streaming Information
For those who are wondering when they can actually watch the show, Nihon Mikuni is scheduled to start broadcasting on TOKYO MX and other local channels starting from April 6th. However, if you use Prime Video, you are in luck because the distribution will actually start a bit earlier on April 5th. Along with this big announcement, the staff also shared the synopsis and some advance cuts from the very first episode, which is titled "Oath of Peace". It seems like the series is going to hit the ground running with some very emotional moments right from the start.
