Takako Shimura has adapted Chiya Fujino's novel "Danchi no Futari" into a comic. The series started in the May issue of JOUR (Futabasha), released today, April 2nd.

The setting for "Futari no Futari" is an old housing complex that retains the atmosphere of the Showa era. Two childhood friends, Noechi (also known as Noechi), a part-time university lecturer, and Natsuko (also known as Nacchan, a struggling illustrator), who live in the house where she was born, spend their days enjoying small happiness while having dinner together and selling unwanted items on a flea market app. In 2024, it was made into a drama in the "Premium Drama" slot of NHK BS and NHK BS Premium 4K, and attracted attention with the double starring of Kyoko Koizumi and Satomi Kobayashi. This is Shimura's first manga adaptation of Fujino's novel since ``Route 225,'' which was serialized in Monthly Shonen Sirius (Kodansha) from 2007 to 2008. After about 20 years, they teamed up again for "Danchi no Futari". At the start of this series, Fujino has received some comments.

In addition, in this issue, Keiko Honda's "Roller Coaster Marriage Story" "I Want to Save You Now", which has been serialized for about 8 years, concludes. In addition, Iwahineko's tale of an interracial marriage, ``Fox Masked Couple,'' has reached its climax.
