The 1984 version of the TV anime "Glass Mask" based on Suzue Miuchi's original work began broadcasting on TOKYO MX today, May 13th. It will be streamed for free on TVer every Wednesday from 9:25pm after the broadcast ends.

The Story Behind Glass Mask
``Glass Mask'' is a story set in the theater world, where the main character, Maya Kitajima, discovers her talent as an actress in Chigusa Tsukikage, a great actress who retired from the entertainment industry due to an unforeseen accident. She shows off her natural talent and grows while competing with Ayumi Himekawa, her rival.
Production and Broadcast
It began serialization in Hana to Yume (Hakusensha) in 1975, and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in December 2025. This work has been made into a TV animation twice so far, and this time it will be broadcast and distributed as the first work produced by Aiken. Maya Kitajima will be played by Masako Katsuki, and Ayumi Himekawa will be played by Minori Matsushima.
