Their post carried deep condolences from the company staff and also a very touching message from his family members. According to what his family said, the artist had been struggling with poor health since around September 2025. It seems he was quite unwell for a few months before the end came.
A Private Life and a Lasting Legacy
Even though he was a giant in the industry, his family mentioned that Yoshiharu Tsuge was a man who preferred staying away from the limelight. He lived a very quiet and simple life. His family described him as a very grounded person who was deeply family-oriented. He used to sit around the dinner table with them every single day at home, enjoying those small moments that many often overlook. It's quite heart-warming to know that such a great artist was so humble in his personal life.
His family also took a moment to praise his massive achievements in the field of manga. They said that he was a very rare kind of artist who could master many different styles. Whether it was surrealism or raw realism, or even stories that felt like strange dreams or travelogues, he could draw it all with perfection. His family added a note for his followers too, saying that if fans continue to read and appreciate his works, it would be the best possible memorial service for him.
