Japan's first official coloring book of Junji Ito's works, ``Junji Ito Coloring Book Selection,'' was released today, February 20th. The price is 1650 yen including tax.
The ``Junji Ito Coloring Book Selection,'' planned to commemorate Ito's 40th anniversary since his debut, includes 32 coloring books and 16 original color drawings of works such as ``Tomie,'' ``Souichi,'' ``Dead Man's Love,'' ``Hanging Balloon,'' and ``Uzumaki.'' It also includes an interview with Ito, who explains tips on how to paint, ``Tomie'' recommended for beginners, and how to draw with light and perspective. There is also an appendix that allows you to make postcards and pocket bags. Furthermore, ``Junji Ito x garden paper-cutting selection'' is scheduled to be released on March 31st.
Also, in conjunction with the release of ``Junji Ito Coloring Book Selection'' and ``Junji Ito x Garden Cutout Selection,'' a coloring and paper-cutting contest will be held on the official X account of the Asahi Shimbun Publishing Junior Editorial Department. Two people will be chosen by lottery to win Ito's autograph, and 30 people will win a sticker set. The application period is from February 20th to June 30th.
