Preview Movie Version Materials at "Tensura" Exhibition

The highly anticipated That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Special Exhibition is all set to open its doors tomorrow, 21st February, at the Anime Tokyo Station in Tokyo. Just today, on 20th February, a special media preview was held to give a sneak peek of what fans can expect. It is a very big moment for the followers of this series, especially since the franchise has grown so much since its first broadcast back in 2018.

The entrance of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Special Exhibition looks quite grand, welcoming everyone into the magical world of Rimuru Tempest. Since the initial release, we have seen various spin-off animations and theatrical hits, and now even the fourth season is scheduled for April. This exhibition basically lets you look back on the whole journey of Rimuru and his friends while following the main anime plot very closely.

Stepping into the Venue: First Impressions

As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by a massive visual for the upcoming movie, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Blue Sea, which is releasing on 27th February. Walking down the aisle, I noticed a very beautiful mosaic art showing the famous scene where Rimuru and Veldora become friends. If you look very closely, you can actually see that the entire thing is made using tiny cut scenes from the anime. There is also a dedicated corner where all the key visuals from the third season are collected for fans to admire.

The next area really dives into the world-building from the first three seasons. It is filled with cut scenes and memorable lines that explain why That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a must watch fantasy epic for any true anime lover. In the first section, the focus is on the people Rimuru has met, like Shizu, and the various races he has befriended over time. You can really reminisce about the whole story leading up to the establishment of the Federation of Jura Tempest.

Exploring the Jura Tempest Federation

Moving into the second area, the topics shift towards the complex relationships between the Jura Tempest Federation and other neighbouring countries. It also covers the intense process of how Rimuru eventually became the Demon King. Looking at the expression on Rimuru's face in the scene cuts, you can really feel how his state of mind changed when he decided to protect his friends at any cost. This emotional depth is a big reason why That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a must watch fantasy epic in the current isekai landscape.

Some of the highlights in this area include:

  • Eight Star Demon King: A life-size panel of the legendary group that looks very imposing.
  • AR Photo Spot: A fun place where you can take photos with Rimuru on your head or even wearing his wings.
  • Magic Continent World Map: A detailed map summarizing the power balance of the Jura Tempest Federation and surrounding forces.
  • Season 3 Panels: Life-size panels of Benimaru, Gobuta, and other close friends.

There is even a very funny photo spot where you can act as if you are being preyed upon by Rimuru's skills! The exhibition also showcases the openings and endings from all three seasons in a dedicated video area.

A Glimpse into the Future

The final section is all about That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Blue Sea. Visitors get to see exclusive materials before the actual theatrical release. This includes details about the vacation-style costumes Rimuru and the others wear in the film, along with information about Yura, a new character who holds the key to the entire movie plot. The Tensura Special Exhibition will be running until 24th May and the best part is that admission is absolutely free. If you are in Tokyo, you should definitely visit to enjoy the worldview once more before the 4th season starts.
