Bleach Franchise Expansion
While the Bleach anime adaptation is nearing its end, series creator Tite Kubo has revealed exciting plans for the franchise. In a recent post on X, Kubo announced Don't Bleach My Fist, an official spin-off series, which is now in its planning phase for its second installment.
This new project started as an April Fool's joke titled "High School Warfare" but has evolved into a brand-new series set in an alternate reality. In this reality, Ichigo and other characters are members of rival high schools, engaging in intense hand-to-hand brawls.
Story and Artwork
Don't Bleach My Fist is written by Ryogo Narita, the author behind Spirits Are Forever With You and Can't Fear Your Own World, two more Bleach spin-offs. The artwork is provided by none other than Tite Kubo himself, ensuring that the series stays true to its roots.
Narita has a proven track record of creating successful franchises as a mangaka, including Baccano! and Durarara!!. His involvement in Don't Bleach My Fist promises an exciting and fresh take on the Bleach universe.
Bleach Legacy
After nearly three decades, the Bleach franchise is still ongoing. The main series' manga has finished, and the anime is about to wrap up, but Tite Kubo is far from done with the series. With Don't Bleach My Fist and other spin-offs, the Bleach franchise will continue to thrive and expand its legacy.
The original Big Three of shonen (One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach) have outlasted the next generation of shonen, sometimes referred to as the 'New Big Three' (Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia). Don't Bleach My Fist is an exciting development for fans, as it offers a fresh and unique take on the Bleach universe without relying on power-scaling or absurd new powers.
