The Inspiration Behind the New Arc
009/Joe Shimamura is a cyborg who has an accelerator and can move at the speed of sound. Born to a Japanese mother and a foreign father of unknown nationality, he grew up experiencing discrimination and has a strong anger towards those who trample on human dignity and oppress people.
Kaji commented about the work, ``In this day and age where AI technology is increasing its presence, the story that depicts ``What is a human being?'' deeply touched my heart.'' He also said of Joe, ``He's someone I admire, someone I feel close to myself, and at the same time, someone I want to be like.''
The New Cyborg Army
The cast who will play the members of the cyborg group Nemesis, who will be new characters, have also been announced. Rina Hidaka will play the role of N001/Miu, who has psychic abilities. Yoshimasa Hosoya will play N002/Blizzard, a former police officer with the ability to freeze and fly, and Hiroshi Kamiya will play N003/Crack, a former hacker from the poor who has the ability to crack.
