The TV anime "Grand Blue" Season 3, based on the original work by Kenji Inoue and Kimihiro Yoshioka, will begin broadcasting in July. Teaser visuals, new characters and their cast have been released.
"Grand Blue" is a youth comedy in which Iori, a student at a university in Izu, spends his time on campus with members of a diving club who make fun of their daily routine. The first season of the anime aired from July 2018, and the second season aired from July 2025. In the third season, the story will be moved to Palau, the first overseas location. The teaser visual depicts Iori Kitahara, Chisa Kotegawa, and Kohei Imamura arriving on a southern island.
The three new characters announced for the third season are Sayaka Kotegawa, the owner of the Palau branch of the diving shop Dolphin, Iori's aunt and the mother of the Kotegawa sisters, the chief clerk at the diving shop run by Sayaka, and Maki, also a clerk. Sayaka Ohara will play the role of Sayaka Kotegawa, Masami Seto will play the role of Chief, and Aya Suzaki will play the role of Maki. Comments were also received from Ohara, Seto, and Susaki, who has a diving license.
