Netflix announces the start of production of the first live-action movie in the "Gundam" series. A list of the main cast has also arrived.
Gundam is a live-action movie directed by Jim Mickle and scheduled to be distributed on Netflix. Set during a decades-long war between Earth and a space colony, the film depicts rival pilots divided into opposing factions. Starring Sidney Sweeney and Noah Centineo. Also starring are Jackson White, Shiori Kutsuna, Nonso Anozie, Michael Mando, Javon "Wanna" Walton, Oleksandr Rudinsky, Ayda Brooke, Gemma Chua-Tran, and Jason Isaacs. Filming will begin in April in Queensland, Australia.
The live-action Gundam movie is produced by Legendary Pictures in collaboration with Bandai Namco Filmworks. Executive producers include Matthew Jenkins, Makoto Asanuma, and Naohiro Ogata, who have worked on many of the Gundam series. A live-action film adaptation was announced in 2018.
