P.A. Works to Adapt Asa Rokushima's Fantasy Novels into Anime
Shochiku recently announced that Asa Rokushima's "Tsuihō Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimamana Second Life o Ōka Suru" novels will be adapted into a television anime by P.A. Works. The anime, also known as "The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a New Life" or "Chi-Fuyo," has generated excitement among fans with the release of its visual on the anime's website.
Celebration and anticipation
Rokushima expressed his delight at the anime adaptation, congratulating Gyomuyoumochi and sharing his anticipation for seeing the characters come to life on screen. The collaboration between the novel illustrator Kisui and the manga adaptation artist Gyōmuyōmochi further marked the occasion with celebratory illustrations.
Overview of the anime
The story follows Rein, an enchanter expelled from his guild for enhancing all equipment to the maximum level. Determined to reclaim his mana, Rein accidentally transforms a copper sword into a powerful weapon with his magic. Armed with this cheat-level gear and no combat experience, Rein embarks on a new adventure, blending magic, science, humor, and character drama.
Origins and publication
Rokushima began serializing the story in January 2021 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. Kodansha published the first volume in January 2022, with the second following in October 2022. Gyōmuyōmochi's manga adaptation debuted in Kodansha's Shōnen Magazine R in November 2021, later moving to Comic Days app in March 2023. The 19th volume of the manga is set for release on February 9 by Kodansha.
