The third PV, which uses the opening theme song reGretGirl 'Hi no Ataru Kotoba', depicts Maki, who is worried about his family relationships, and Umi, who is by his side. Additional cast members include Rikuya Yasuda as classmate Sekimo, Shinji Kawada as Maki's father Itsuki Maehara, and Yurina Amami as Itsuki's subordinate Kyoka Minato.
Story and Background
'I became friends with the second cutest girl in my class' is a romantic comedy that depicts the relationship between the main character, Maki, a shady boy who is in a contrasting position in his class, and the heroine, Umi, who is the second cutest in her class. The original novel won the paperback category grand prize at the Next Light Novel Awards 2023, and a comic adaptation by Rin Ono has also been published.
