100% Doraemon & Friends Takes Over Tokyo: A Grand Celebration
The wait is finally over for fans in Japan! The massive 100% Doraemon & Friends in Tokyo exhibition is set to be held at TOKYO DREAM PARK in Tokyo from March 27th all the way to September 30th. This is no ordinary display; it is a very large-scale event that aims to bring together the entire universe of the beloved blue robot cat, covering everything from the original Doraemon manga and anime series to the many feature-length movies that have captured our hearts for decades. It is truly a special occasion to experience the timeless magic of Doraemon in such a grand setting.
Before the main event even starts, there is some serious excitement building up with a special pre-event titled Shibuya and Roppongi are full of Doraemon! which will be held in the popular Shibuya and Roppongi areas of Tokyo on March 14th and 15th. It is a limited two-day gathering that you simply cannot afford to miss if you are in the city.
Unique Appearances and Secret Tools in the City
During the pre-event, you will notice Doraemon figures with very unique and unusual appearances popping up all around the city. These special versions are said to have been summoned using a brand-new secret tool called the 100% Friend Atsume Suzu (Friend Gatherer Bell), which is making its first-ever appearance in the 100% Doraemon & Friends world. It is quite a fun way to engage with the fans and bring the manga's creativity into the real world.
In the Shibuya area alone, ten different Doraemons will be making an appearance. Some of the most interesting ones include:
- Starfish Monster Doraemon: A quirky version that you definitely want to take a selfie with.
- Dorayaki Fashion Doraemon: Looking absolutely delicious and stylish in his favourite snack-themed outfit.
- Life-sized Expressions: Various other figures showing off the classic range of emotions we know and love.
Meanwhile, the Roppongi area is going even bigger. A massive Doraemon balloon, standing at a total length of about 12 meters, will be set up to greet visitors. Right at its feet, there will be a line-up of over 40 life-sized Doraemon figures. Each one will be showing different expressions and poses, making it a perfect spot for photography. Seeing so many versions of him in one place really reminds you of the timeless magic of Doraemon and how he has remained a global icon for so long.
