From the sequel production decision event for the live-action "Fleet of Silence" series
The "Silent Fleet" series will be released as a live-action movie in 2023, followed by the drama "Silent Fleet Season 1 ~The Great Battle of Tokyo Bay~" which will be released in 2024 on Prime Video. ``The Silent Fleet: The Great Battle of the Arctic Ocean'', which was released in theaters nationwide in 2025, will be distributed exclusively worldwide on Prime Video from March 20, 2026.
Today, March 19th, a sequel production decision event was held somewhere in Kanagawa in front of a real submarine. The event was attended by Takao Osawa, who played the lead role and producer Shiro Kaieda, Hiroshi Tamaki, who played Hiroshi Fukamachi, 12 actors who played Yamato's crew, and director Kohei Yoshino.
Osawa commented on the sequel, saying, ``I'm very happy to finally be able to announce it.The original work still has a long way to go, but it has been decided that we will film it until the end of the original work, and filming has begun.'' Regarding future production: ``Producing a full-length original work to the end is an extremely difficult task. For the sequel, we will be going overseas to film, and up until now we have been rivals with Fukamachi, but now that our enemy has become huge, we will have to become friends. Those who know the original work will probably know that. This is where the real deal comes in. Both the drama and the movie have received good reviews, but this sequel is nothing like this.'' He expressed his confidence, saying, ``I think everything from the story to the CG to the actors' enthusiasm exceeds the previous one, so I hope you're looking forward to it.'' Regarding the release date, he said, ``I don't know how much I can say, but it seems that there will be a video attached to the back of the special edition that will be distributed tomorrow.I think you'll be able to see more and more of the latest work from now on, so please look forward to it.''
Tamaki talked about the success of Fukamachi, who plays the role he plays, and said, ``As Mr. Osawa said, the true essence of the show is to portray it until the end, and we filmed it because we had a goal, so I think it will be a season filled with human drama that you have never seen before, so please look forward to it.'' Director Yoshino says, ``For those of you who have seen the work so far, how far can we go visually? I'm sure you think we've already reached the limit, but we need to support the work from the visual aspect as well, so we're also feeling the effects of the VFX!'' Lastly, Osawa will continue to work hard until the series is completed, hoping that it will bring hope to the Japanese people and the world, so I would appreciate your support."
