Netflix Announces Release Date for Hideaki Sorachi's Dandelion Anime
The wait is finally over for fans of the legendary mangaka Hideaki Sorachi. It has been officially confirmed that the distribution date for the upcoming Netflix series "Dandelion", which is based on the original debut work by the creator of Gintama, is set for April 16th. Along with this big announcement, the makers also treated us to a brand new trailer, some stunning key art, and a list of new cast members who will be joining the project. Plot and Setting: The Japan Angel Federation Transfer Club
For those who don't know, Sorachi's debut work "Dande Lion" tells a very unique story centered around Tanba and Kurotetsu. They are both members of a peculiar group known as the "Japan Angel Federation Transfer Club." Their main job is to search for souls that are struggling to attain Buddhahood because of their lingering regrets in the living world. The duo helps these souls find peace and sends them off to the afterlife. This mix of supernatural themes and classic Sorachi humour is what makes the anime and manga journey so special for the community.
The latest updates regarding the trailer and key art were shared today, March 28th, during the "AnimeJapan 2026" event which is currently being held at the Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo. The response from the audience there has been quite massive, as expected from a Sorachi project.
Mega Cast Reveal: A Gintama Reunion?
One of the biggest highlights of the announcement is the voice acting cast. Mamoru Miyano is set to play the role of Masaki Keikawa, a character who apparently has a very deep connection with the Tanpopo group. But what really caught everyone's eye is the inclusion of the Yorozuya trio from Gintama. The cast list includes:
