Inu Murayama's ``The Genius is Obsessed with a False Girlfriend'', based on Chikafuji's original work, has been made into a TV drama. Starring Daiki Konno (B&ZAI) and Shiho Kato, the drama will be broadcast on CBC TV's "Drama Trip" slot every Thursday at 24:58 starting April 23rd.

``The Genius is Obsessed with a False Girlfriend'' is a romantic comedy about a solitary genius who is a perfectionist and keeps others away, and a heroine who is clumsy but honest and has the strength to not run away. Rin Hoshino, a 29-year-old girl on the edge of a cliff with no boyfriend and no job, tries hard to find a new encounter and get married, but everything is ruined by a mysterious and insensitive man who suddenly appears. One day, at her brother's request, Rin accepts the job of housekeeping for a ``talented programmer who is a returnee'' for a limited time. However, the client turns out to be Iku Wakatsuki, a "mysterious insensitive man" whom he met at that time...
Konno, who plays the role of Iku Wakatsuki, commented, ``It was my dream to appear in a drama, so when I received this offer, I was surprised and thought, ``Are you going to be the lead in a drama series!'' I did my best to play Iku Wakatsuki in my own way.'' Kato, who plays Rin Hoshino, said, ``There were so many exciting scenes that I couldn't help but feel embarrassed, and I was captivated by Rin-chan's hard work.In the drama, there are also a lot of exciting moments that make me feel embarrassed.'' The two authors of the original work also commented, and Inu Murayama, who is in charge of the manga, has arrived with a new illustration.
