It turns out that when humans get very high-quality sleep, they often don't dream at all. This is a big problem for a hungry Baku who just wants a nice meal.
The Struggle for REM Sleep
After finding out this shocking truth about human biology, Shika doesn't just give up. Instead, he starts devising various plans to make sure the residents don't sleep too well. He wants them to engage in light REM sleep so that the dreams can finally start flowing. It is a very funny and weird situation where a dorm mother is actually trying to slightly disturb the peace just to get some food. Much like how fans look for depth in the cult classic anime and manga series, this story offers a lot of charm in its unusual narrative.
The manga is currently being serialized in Blue Knight, which is a KADOKAWA publication.
